FAQs

We encourage potential home owners to take a self guided tour of our Inspiration Home Village in Marshfield, WI. Your builder can provide keys for visitation at your convenience, or we’d be happy to provide you with a key at our reception desk during normal business hours Monday–Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Additionally, many of our builders have Inspiration Home models available at their location as well. If visiting around a holiday please be sure to call to check hours. Office 715-384-2161
Absolutely. In many ways we make it a simple process to expand your Inspiration Home as your needs change. All of the blueprints and engineering materials associated with your home are kept on file in one location. And because we have long term relationships with our vendors (some as long as 40 years!) it’s easy to find a product that matches your current home.
Yes, site built homes and precision built homes are subject to the same codes. We build homes in accordance to the codes for the state or province it’s being built in. We pride ourselves in not only building to the code, but the highest level of the code or higher.
Actually, precision built homes undergo far more inspections than a site built home. Once our engineering department finalizes a home, those blueprints are reviewed by a third party inspection agency before we start to build. During the building process the home is inspected every day and during each phase of construction by our in-house inspector. The house literally cannot move down the line until each phase has been inspected and signed off on. A third party inspection agency also inspects the home on behalf of your local and state government.
Our factory is temporarily closed for tours. Our Display Village however, is open and we have many homes of various sizes and styles on display to help you design your own home. Please stop by during office hours 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. You can also view the models after hours or on weekends by obtaining a key from any of our builders or by calling our receptionist.
All pricing is done through our builder network. Please see the builder map to locate a builder nearest you.
Once the blueprint is complete and signed off by a third party inspection agency, a bill of materials is created for that home and those materials are ordered. Because the blueprint and bill of material shows exactly what is going into your home we can give you an exact price for the construction. If the cost of a material changes after you’ve been quoted a price, your quote stays the same—we don’t pass the increase onto you.
Speed, convenience and consistent quality are some of the many advantages for choosing a precision built Inspiration Home. On average, once a home begins construction in our facility it’s ready to be transported to the building site within 2-3 weeks. Your builder will handle the logistics for completion.
We don’t start building your home until all the needed materials are at our facility, so there are no delays waiting for something to arrive. In this way, once your home enters our precision building process it moves from phase to phase without delay. And because we know how long each phase takes we can confidently say when your home will be complete and be ready for delivery.
At Wisconsin Homes, our precision building process makes it easy for us to prepare your home structurally for any additions or on-site structures you would like to add.
Inspiration Homes are structurally some of the strongest homes on the market and can be set on a basement or crawl space. We’ll work with your builder to ensure a perfect fit when your new Inspiration Home is set.

LONGTIME HOMEOWNER

We have built and lived in our Wisconsin Home for 30+ years now and are beginning a kitchen remodel. Taking down the soffit, we are impressed with the sturdiness of it. We aren’t surprised. We have had our shingles replaced and a contractor had to go in the attic to look for potential problems. He came out saying we had a very well built house. Again, a contractor went in the attic when we had new gutters and soffit and said the same thing. When we had our kitchen designed at Home Depot, they told us that we should allow for wall and ceilings to be uneven. We said we weren’t worried. After 30 years, our base home isn’t fancy, but it’s made well. Our building contractor was impressed enough to want to be a local builder and use our house as a model. He was too late there was already a Wisconsin Homes builder in our area. He researched a lot of modular homes and yours were built the best.

INSPIRATION HOMES

At Wisconsin Homes our Inspiration Homes are what set us apart from the competition. Our independent builders are also a big part of our success, so we want to help them as much as possible. Some of the ways we do this is by providing professional literature, custom floor plan drawings and customer leads. However we don't stop there—we also help in the design process. One of the unique benefits we offer is the use of material for a computer program called Chief Architect. This software gives you and your customer the ability to apply custom changes to standard floor plans, in real time! This is just another way Wisconsin Homes inspires...
